MARC BASARA, CCIM | Co-Founder & Partner
Leading into co-founding Circle CRE Group, Marc’s commercial real estate experience in construction, investment management and development began in 2010 and includes work experiences at Rebound Partners, ACKERBERG and Weis Builders, Inc.
Throughout his career, Marc has brought over 1,300 multifamily units to market, developed or transacted on 250,000+ square feet of office space, 200,000+ square feet of industrial, and participated in numerous retail oriented projects. Given his portfolio of projects has been highly diverse — located in urban core and outstate markets; ranging in scale from a few hundred thousand dollars to well over $100,000,000; traditionally financed, or more creatively capitalized with unique instruments such as historic tax credits, new market tax credits, tax abatement, TIF, grants, and other unconventional instruments — Marc is comfortable working on a wide variety of project types and deliveries.
To successfully facilitate his work, Marc has established a track record of maintaining effective relationships and collaborating with joint venture partners, lenders and capital investors; federal, state and local officials; architects, general contractors and industry vendors.
Marc holds a Master of Science degree from the University of St. Thomas in Real Estate, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in Construction Engineering. He is a LEED Accredited Professional though the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designee and has served on the Minnesota/Dakotas CCIM Chapter Board (2025 Chapter President).
Beyond Circle CRE Group, Marc enjoys family time with his wife and sons. Together, they frequently seek outdoor activity, whether it is summer lake time, winter snow sports, hiking, finding a beach, golfing or just playing ball in the front yard. Encouraging exploration of new and adventurous activities with his wife and children is one of his true joys.
Before founding Circle CRE Group, Marc and Eric built their careers serving private equity investment firms, executing commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and development projects with the precision and discipline demanded by institutional investors.
Today, Circle CRE Group brings that same institutional expertise to every client. Whether advising an investor, owner, lender, or developer, the firm provides strategic guidance across the entire real estate lifecycle—helping clients move confidently from opportunity to execution.
ERIC HAUPT, CCIM | Co-Founder & Partner
Eric is a real estate professional with more than 10-years of experience sourcing, underwriting, capitalizing, and executing commercial and multifamily investments, including over $250,000,000 in transaction consideration. He has led acquisitions, structured debt and equity, and helped drive portfolio value creation across office, retail, industrial, and multifamily properties.
Prior to co-founding Circle CRE Group, Eric held roles with ACKERBERG and The Excelsior Group, where he developed extensive experience in acquisitions, capitalization, development, and disposition of office, retail, industrial, and multifamily properties. His background provides a comprehensive perspective across the full investment lifecycle.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He is a CCIM designee and also serves on the local board of directors, is an active member of ULI, and serves on multiple committees for the local NAIOP chapter.
When not in the office, you can find Eric spending time at the cabin, traveling, walking the dogs, out on the golf course, or at the curling club.
